Katy Varney; MP&F partner
TPRA congratulates McNeely Pigott & Fox partner Katy Varney for being named one of the city’s most powerful people in business by the Nashville Business Journal.
The NBJ attributes much of her influence to her relationship with recently elected Mayor Megan Barry. Varney was a close adviser during Mayor Barry’s mayoral campaign. She also helped Mayor Karl Dean shepherd a public relations campaign to defeat the effort to conduct all Metro business in English only.
Varney has political experience at the state level as well, having served as former Gov. Ned McWherter’s top lobbyist.
Varney appeared in the third listing of the NBJ’s 2015 Power 100 on Oct. 26 alongside 24 of her peers. The fourth and final installment of the Power 100 will be published on Nov. 2.
