Q Strategies History

Tom Griscom, founding partner and chief strategist, started Q Strategies in August 2013. Tom’s career included stops in Nashville, Washington DC and even the White House before he returned to Chattanooga for a decade as editor and publisher of the Chattanooga Times Free Press. After leaving the paper and working as a consultant, Tom recognized a real void in the market for strategic communications counsel that would help local businesses and agencies achieve their goals. So in 2013, Tom founded Q Strategies, bringing Christina Siebold on as partner and strategist. Account Executives Kelly Allen and Cynthia Fagan joined s oon after.

Today, the Q Strategies team has a collective experience of more than 75 years in strategic communications, coalition building, and issue management. Together, they take an in-depth approach to public relations and marketing, exploring key audiences, testing messages and measuring outcomes.

The team is currently involved in crisis communications, directing product and new business launches, and developing strategic plans that position clients to succeed in their markets while navigating government regulations and shaping public opinion.

Industries and sectors served by Q Strategies to date include:

  • Nonprofit social service
  • State & local agencies
  • Real estate
  • Health care
  • Manufacturing
  • Event management
  • Technology
  • Startups & reorganizations
  • Engineering & architecture

In March 2015 Q Strategies was invited into the Tennessee Public Relations Alliance, joining The Carter Malone Group, Hispanic Marketing Group, Moxley Carmichael and McNeely, Pigott & Fox.
